CREATIVE STORY

This is Adam, Adam Williams. Right now he is the middle of nowhere, just the blazing sun above him and the plain grass beneath his feet but now thinking back at Darwin he saw houses and houses that stretch on for miles and miles and here looking towards the horizon line all he could see was gold strips across the sky and a long thin road which lead to somewhere.

Adam has just moved into this small town about 1000 km south of Darwin, he does not know why his parents moved, possibly they just couldn’t afford a living in the city or it might be that their parent just like this place, but for whatever reason Adam does not like this place and would rather be in Darwin with his mates, because as a new kid who just moved into this town, he has no friend and ever since he was here he has been trying to fit in.

“Do you want to hang out with us” ask John, who has thin brown hair that is brush unevenly to one side.

“Just leave me alone! Why do I want to be friend with you?” shouted Adam and at the same though in his mind: why would I want to be friends with these kids, I will be better off without these crappy people. Adam quickly sighed, dropping his head so that a strand of hair fell before his eyes, and walked away for them.

As time pass time pass worthlessly in this place, Adam is getting more desperate to find friendship because every day at school and after school he has no friends to hung up with, unlike the kids they are most in gangs of 7 or 8 sitting down chatting about the most unusual things and smoking.

Finally he was approaching the Josh Waldron’s gang, he quickly shifted from his head down into carrying his head high indicting that he has power over every one here and his is the toughest person there.  “Hey, Josh can I join your gang, I sure us two are the same type, because we are both cool.” as he spoke with mumbling voice.

“You? Joining our gang, you gotta be serious.”Josh answered with the most sarcastic voice and at the same time burst out laughing. Uncomfortably Adam shifted his head from looking upwards to looking downwards.

“What make us two similar?” said Josh but Adam still look blank. “Do you smoke, or do you take the drug, do you like alcohol or can you get the girls easily?” Still blank expression on Adam’s face. “Come on, you gotta have something.” With nothing Adam, Josh continued to speak “OK, just follow us.” As soon as Adam heard that he quickened his steps to follow the gang.

Josh’s mouth twisted into arrogant sneer. “I am going to teach the weak brat a lesson.” Softly he and his mates laughed softly.

As they reach a lake, their footstep slowed to a halt.

“Hey, Adam come here, don’t keep me waiting.” Josh said with such a manner that he is really looking forward to what he has planned to do. Adam quickly walked towards Josh as he instructed, as soon as Adam reached Josh, with a light movement Josh lightly gave Adam a push, this sent Adam falling backwards, until SPASH.

Immediately the all the receptors in Adam’s body all cried out in pain as he fell into the water, because the water was really cold even though it is summer.  Seconds after the fall, Adam burst out of the surface, creating a ripples expanding out. At the same time he is using all his might to keep his head above the surface and shouting help me, help me. But as expected Josh and his gang did nothing. As time pass the Adam’s body is getting weaker and weaker by every minute that passed but he knew he could get on shore because then Josh will push him into the lake again. Gradually the sky got darker and darker until nocturnal animal of the bush came out and finally Josh’s gang left.

Adam quickly took off all his cloths and using all his strength he swam to the side. After enduring nearly 4 hours of pain in the cold water Adam is finally home soaked in a hot bath. Think back now he regrated that he refused John, he should not be so arrogant next time, but there might not be a next time any more, not after what he said to him.
